
HIGH SCHOOLS – The Scotia-Glenville boys’ track and field team topped Gloversville 101-27, winning all three relays.
Aleksey Falcon won the 400 intermediate hurdles (1:09.41) and triple jump (35-4) for the Tartans.
Gloversville’s Kazuma Lomanto won the 100 (12.4), edging Scotia’s Noah Rodriguez by three-hundredths of a second, and the 200 (24.50), and the Red Dragons’ Jonathan Quackenbush swept the shot put (35-7) and discus (84-8).
SARATOGA GIRLS’ TRACK SWEEPS
Saratoga Springs swept Shaker and Bethlehem in Suburban Council track and field, as McKinley Wheeler (4:56.01) and Mackenzie Hart (4:56.04) nearly finished in a dead heat in the 1,500 for the Blue Streaks. Shaker sophomore Leonni Griffin snapped off a 2:14.94 in the 800 to improve upon her Section II season-best. Audrey Bowerman swept the shot put (30-0) and discus (75-4) for Bethlehem.
Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake defeated Averill Park and Schenectady behind a double from sophomore Mia Paolino in the 800 (2:17.27) and 1,500 (4:52.37). Averill Park junior Abigail Wicks took the 100 (12.43), 200 (25.89) and 400 (57.53).
Columbia swept Albany and Troy in a double dual, as Ava Weiss won four events for the Blue Devils. She swept the hurdles, posting a 17.1 in the high hurdles and 1:10.6 in the intermediates, and won the long jump (16-11.5) and triple jump (33-3). Anna Nassivera was first in the shot put (26-11.5) and discus (72-0) for Columbia.
Scotia-Glenville topped Gloversville 107-20 in a Foothills Council dual meet, as Stephanie James won the 3,000 (11:31.38) and the 400 intermediate hurdles (1:18.29) for the Tartans, Jo Jo Mustico swept the shot put (24-9.5) and discus (81-4), Zoie Tesi won the triple jump (33-8) and high jump (5-2) and Morgan Luke won the long jump (14-1) and 100 (13.87).
