
HIGH SCHOOLS – Niskayuna piled up nine runs in the fifth inning to overcome a 3-1 deficit, and the Silver Warriors went on to post a 12-8 Suburban Council baseball win at Bethlehem.
Dan Quinn had a double, single, two RBIs and two runs scored for Niskayuna, Dylan Menillo had a double and single, Jacob Pirrone-Salisbury had two hits, and Tyler Toth had a hit and three RBIs. Ryan Taffe went 4 for 4 with an RBI, Joe Monserrat went 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs to pace Bethlehem.
Marvin Hill went 3 for 4 with a home run, double, four RBIs and three runs scored to lead Mohonasen over Schalmont 14-2 in a five-inning Colonial Council baseball game. AJ Crux had two hits and three RBIs for Mohonasen, Jimmy Wilson had two hits and two RBIs, and Vinny Corolla had two hits and one RBI. Christian Tortorici had a triple and an RBI for Schalmont, and Jerek Hobb had a double and single.
Brady Holzhauer pitched a three-hitter with nine strikeouts, and Nate Garafalo hit a triple, double and scored a run in Ichabod Crane’s 4-0 win over Lansingburgh. Gunnar Gretchen-McLaughlin, Satchel Baumgartner and Alex Igras each had a hit and an RBI for the Riders.
Geneo Savoca gave up four hits, struck out 12 and doubled for Albany Academy in its 7-2 win over La Salle. Aidan O’Keefe had two hits for Academy, which used a five-run sixth to go up 7-1. Noah Grandjean doubled and scored a run for La Salle.
Zowen Collins delivered a grand slam and a double, and Aaron Henry belted a three-run home run and a double to sprk Cobleskill-Richmondville in a 10-3 win over Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk.
Ryan Grimmick went 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI to back Zach Pingelski’s three-hit pitching in Mechanicville’s 4-2 Wasaren League win over Tamarac. Pingelski gave up one earned run over seven innings and struck out four. Peyton Richardson and Nevin Wilkie had doubles for the Begals.
Jack Montanye gave up one hit over four innings, Richie Tamsett allowed no hits over the final two frames, and the Canajoharie pitchers combined for 10 strikeouts as the Cougars shut down OESJ 10-0 in a Western Athletic Conference game. Tommy Weingart, Zack Suits and Tamsett had two hits apiece, with Suits collecting three RBIs and Tamsett finishing with two RBIs. Tamsett hit a triple and double and Weingart also doubled.
Colin Handy surrendered two hits and struck out six in Mayfield’s 7-0 win over Northville. Zach Byrns had two hits and two RBIs for Mayfield, and Cameron Abdella had a hit and an RBI. The Panthers jumped on the Falcons with four runs in the first inning.
Mike Magliocca had a double and single, and Broadalbin-Perth used a four-run fifth and a three-run sixth to get past Johnstown 9-5 in the Foothills Council. Mick Winton had three hits and Zach Tallon had two for Johnstown.
Schuylerville pushed runs across in the first, fifth and six innings to edge Glens Falls 3-1. Owen Sherman had two hits and an RBI for the Black Horses, and Mark Earley had a double and an RBI.
JJ Trudeau had a triple, two singles and two RBIs, Zak Halloran had a double and single, and Cohoes used a seven-run fourth-inning outburst to finish off Rensselaer 15-0 in a five-inning non-league game.
Shane Wetherington hit a home run and double, drove in three runs and scored two in Duanesburg’s 7-6 victory over Waterford-Halfmoon. Derrick Pontore had two hits for the Fordians.
Columbia scored five runs in the fifth inning and six in the sixth to overhaul Queensbury 12-5. Jacob Skarlis had two doubles, a single, four RBIs and three runs scored for Columbia, and Korin Laurilla had two doubles, a single and two RBIs.Tyler Spaulding had a double, single and two RBIs for Queensury.
Daniel Woloszyn’s fielder’s choice brought home the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning as Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake beat Gloversville 8-7. Burnt Hills scored twice in its last at-bat. John Wells had a double, single and an RBI for Burnt Hills, Shane Bonney had two hits and an RBI, and Luke Haluska had two hits. Lukas Oathout had a hit, an RBI and a run scored for Gloversville.
