SARATOGA SPRINGS – A Ballston Spa resident has been arrested and charged with a stabbing that happened last week in Saratoga Springs, police said.
Luke Kilburn, 18, was charged Tuesday with one count each of second-degree assault, a felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.
Kilburn is accused of stabbing an 18-year-old during a fight on Woodlawn Avenue at about 8:30 p.m. May 25, police said.
Police responded then to the newer parking garage for a fight involving 15 to 20 people, police said. The fight dispersed prior to officers arriving, but the victim soon arrived at Saratoga Hospital with a stab wound to his abdomen, police said.
Police described the victim’s injury as non-life-threatening.
The investigation soon determined that the group involved was well-known to each other and that the stabbing was not a random act, police said.
Kilburn was arraigned and released to return to court later.
