Rocker pitches well, but ValleyCats fall to Capitales

TROY — Kumar Rocker pitched three shutout innings against the Quebec Capitales in his second start for the Tri-City ValleyCats on Friday and left with a 6-0 lead.

But the Capitales rallied after Rocker left and pulled out an 8-7 Frontier League victory at Joseph L.Bruno Stadium.

Rocker, a former first-round draft pick of the New York Mets, allowed two hits, struck out five and walked one. He threw 47 pitches, 32 for strikes.

The Capitales scored two runs in the fourth, two runs in the fifth, one in the seventh and three in the ninth.
