
HALFMOON – A 19-year-old basketball player has been charged with assaulting a referee after a basketball game in Halfmoon earlier this month, state police said.
Unique Steele, 19, of Hudson Falls, turned himself in to police Monday on one count of third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, and violation disorderly conduct, state police said.

He is accused of punching the referee following a game at the Impact Athletic Center on Route 146 in Halfmoon on the afternoon of June 5, state police said.
The referee suffered some scrapes and marks as a result of the incident, state police said.
Steele was processed and released to appear in court later.
No other charges are expected, state police said.
