
TROY – The Tri-City ValleyCats jumped on the Empire State Greys early and polished off a 13-1 victory on the strength of six home runs at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium on Sunday.
Willy Garcia hit two homers for the ValleyCats, and Pavin Parks, Brantley Bell, Brad Zunica and Jonah Girand also homered.
Bell also hit a double, and Denis Phipps hit two doubles for Tri-City, which finished with 15 total hits.
Starting pitcher Leo Crawford gave up just one earned run in seven innings for the ValleyCats, who scored four runs in the second inning and seven in the third.
Garcia’s home runs gave Tri-City a 2-0 lead in the second and a 7-1 lead in the third, when Tri-City had four homers.
