AUGUSTA, N.J. — A four-run fifth inning propelled the Sussex County Miners to a 5-1 Frontier League victory over the Tri-City ValleyCats on Friday at Skylands Stadium.
With the score tied 1-1, Isaias Quiroz hit a two-run double to five the Miners a 3-1 lead. Errol Robinson followed with a run-scoring triple, and he came home on Nilo Rijo’s double.
The ValleyCats’ only run came on a Jesus Lujano sacrifice fly in the third inning.
The two teams meet again at 6:05 p.m. Saturday.
