New Schenectady police officers welcomed, others promoted

SCHENECTADY The Schenectady Police Department welcomed six new officers Thursday evening and promoted three others.

The department held the Promotion and Badge ceremony at City Hall, with Police Chief Eric Clifford providing the new officers, among them his son Daniel Clifford, their badges.

New officer Daniel Clifford was joined by five others, Shuayb Banks, Jack Guarneri, Seanna Slingerland, Kailin Pigliavento and Matthew Gatta.

The new officers are now to head into field training, officials said.

Promoted were sergeants Seth North, William Stockman and Takeo Mosher.
