
SCHENECTADY – Ten new Schenectady Police Department recruits are to start at the academy Wednesday, officials said.
A formal swearing in ceremony is then to be held Thursday at City Hall.
The new recruits include two graduates each from Niskayuna High School and Schalmont High School and one graduate each from Mohonasen High School, Colonie Central High School, Christian Brothers Academy and Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons graduate.

- Cameron Baitsholts, 22, a graduate of Greenville High School and Hudson Valley Community College. He is also a member of the Army Reserve, where he serves as a drill sergeant.
- Michael Belcher, 24, a graduate of Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons, Schenectady County Community College and the University at Albany.
- Jacob Davey, 21, a graduate of Niskayuna High School and SUNY Delhi. He is also a volunteer firefighter for Niskayuna Fire District 2, where he serves as a third lieutenant.
- Dalton LaTulipe, 29, a graduate of Schalmont High School. He sent on to serve in the Army as a military police officer.
- Malik Lawrence, 26, a graduate of Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering and Memphis Police Academy.
- Nicolas Melillo, 22, a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy and Siena College
- Austin Reihs, 23, a graduate of Niskayuna High School and Southern New Hampshire University.
- Matthew Ryan, 22, a graduate of Mohonasen High School and Hudson Valley Community College.
- Sarah Steiner, 28, a graduate of Colonie Central High School and the College of Saint Rose. She also earned a masters in criminal justice from the University of Cincinnati.
- Michael Tommasone, 22, a graduate of Schalmont High School, Schenectady County Community College and the University at Albany.
