TROY — The Tri-City ValleyCats rallied from a 4-1 deficit in the fifth inning to defeat New Jersey 6-4 on Sunday in Frontier League action at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium.

The victory gave the ValleyCats a sweep of the three-game series.

Tri-City tied it at 4 with three runs in the bottom of the fifth. Cito Culver hit a two-run home run, and Brad Zunica added an RBI double.

The ValleyCats took the lead for good on Austin Elder’s solo homer. He later added an insurance run in the eighth with an RBI single.

Closer Trey Cochran-Gill earned a six-out save.

The ValleyCats are off today. They begin a three-game series against the East Division-leading Quebec Capitales on Tuesday in Quebec City.
