Sloppy ValleyCats lose to Capitales

QUEBEC CITY — The Tri-City ValleyCats played sloppy defense, committing four errors in an 11-5 Frontier League loss to the East Division-leading Quebec Capitales on Thursday.

Three of the errors happened in the third, leading to a five-run inning. The inning was capped by Jeffry Parra’s two-run homer. All of the runs in the inning were unearned.

After the ValleyCats scored three runs in the top of the seventh to pull within 6-5, the Capitales put the game away with five runs in their half of the seventh. T.J. White had a sacrifice fly, Kyle Crowl had a two-run double and Josh Sears drove in two runs with a single.

Brad Zunica hit a two-run homer for the ValleyCats.
