TROY –  Joey Gonzalez pitched a complete game and gave up just three hits as the Tri-City ValleyCats blanked the Empire State Greys 8-0 at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium on Sunday.

Gonzalez, who struck out nine and walked three, brought a no-hitter into the sixth inning before Robbie Carling broke it up with a one-out single.

Austin Elder hit a grand slam in the bottom of the fourth inning to give the ValleyCats a 6-0 lead.

Brantley Bell also homered for Tri-City, a solo shot in the third that made it 2-0.
