Saratoga Sheriff: Pickup truck strikes, kills pedestrian in Clifton Park, leaves scene; Driver, truck sought

CLIFTON PARK – A pedestrian was struck and killed Thursday by a pickup truck in Clifton Park in a hit-and-run crash and Saratoga County Sheriff’s officials are seeking the public’s help in finding the truck and driver.

Killed in the crash was Michele Heffern, 64, of Clifton Park. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office continued Thursday evening to ask for the public’s help in finding the truck and driver.

The Sheriff’s Office responded to the hit-and-run involving a pedestrian on Vischer Ferry Road and Ray Road in the Town of Clifton Park around 2:15 p.m.

Investigators are seeking a green Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by a man believed to be 50 to 60 years old.

The vehicle was last seen driving southbound on Vischer Ferry Road, it was described as an older vehicle and not in good condition, with a damaged front end and on the passenger side.

The Sheriff’s Office asks that anyone with information about the vehicle or the driver contact the Sheriff’s Office at (518)-885-6761.
