Summer in the Capital Region is packed with things to do, at the track and away from it. On any given day, there’s plenty to choose from between horse racing, live music, festivals, fairs and theater.

Here are several fun options for today.

PICK OF THE DAY 

Joe Russo’s Almost Dead opens at 7:30 tonight at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. Tickets start at $25. 

AROUND SARATOGA

The Deena Chappel Trio plays Purdy’s Summer Concert Stage at the Saratoga Race Course. Gates open at 11 a.m. 

A master gypsy jazz player, Stephan Wremble brings his band to Caffe Lena for a 7 p.m. show. Tickets are $14.50-35. 

ELSEWHERE

The Washington County Fair continues from 9 a.m. – 10 p.m. with entertainment, 4-H displays, food, music and rides at the Washington County Fairgrounds. Admission is $15 for a day pass. 

The Black Theatre Troupe of Upstate NY presents “Flyin’ West” at Proctors’ GE Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $22.50. 

Southern blues rock artist Tinsley Ellis plays The Linda: WAMC’s Performing Arts Center tonight at 8. Tickets are $26-32.
