Tri-City ValleyCats earn win over Empire State

TROY – The Tri-City ValleyCats immediately responded to Empire State’s tying rally, coming away with a 4-2 win at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium in Frontier League action Saturday.

Up 2-0, the Greys  tied it in the top of the sixth inning on Robbie Carling’s two-run homer.

In the bottom half of the inning, Denis Phipps singled in Pavin Parks for the go-ahead run. Later in the inning, Jesus Lujano also had an RBI single that scored Carson McCusker.

Tri-City scored two in the third inning. Brantley Bell’s RBI double scored Joe Campagna and sent Austin Elder to third. Pavin Parks then hit a sacrifice fly to right field to score Elder.

Austin Faith pitched six innings, struck out six and walked one to earn the win.
