Police: Pedestrian killed in Tuesday night State Street crash in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY – A woman was killed in a Tuesday night car-pedestrian crash in Schenectady, police said.

The woman, who was not immediately identified by police, was struck at about 9:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of State Street, police said.

She was treated at the scene by members of the Schenectady Fire Department and taken to Ellis Hospital by Mohawk Ambulance. She was pronounced dead shortly afterward, police said.

The vehicle involved in the crash remained on scene and both occupants are cooperating with police. Impairment was not a factor, police said.

The Schenectady Police Traffic Division reconstructed the accident and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
