Saratoga Sheriff: Clifton Park man stabbed relative multiple times Thursday; Fled, school placed on lock-out

CLIFTON PARK A Clifton Park man stabbed a relative multiple times Thursday and then fled the scene, leading a nearby school to be placed on lock-out, Saratoga County Sheriff’s officials said.

The victim in the incident was taken to Albany Medical Center with injuries described as serious, officials said.

Nearby Okte Elementary School was placed on lockout temporarily until the suspect was taken into custody, officials said.

Officials identified the suspect as Joseph T. Colaccino, 18, of Clifton Park. He faces one count of first-degree assault.

He is accused of stabbing the family member several times with a knife during a domestic dispute at their residence, officials said.

Colaccino was arraigned and ordered held on $10,000 bail.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Clifton Park Halfmoon EMS and the New York State Police.
