
HIGH SCHOOLS – Casey Clarke scored all three of his team’s goals, including the game-tying goal with 22 seconds left in regulation and the winner in overtime, to lead Galway in a 3-2 Western Athletic Conference boys’ soccer win over OESJ on Monday.
Colin Anderson and Joe DeVellis had assists for Galway, and Ryan Pudney backstopped the win with five saves. Andrew Snell scored both OESJ goals, including a penalty kick that gave OESJ the lead with two minutes left in regulation before Clarke tied things up.
Griffen Lansing and Tom LaTourette scored for Schoharie in a 2-0 win over Fonda-Fultonville. Preston DiGiovainni added an assist on LaTourette’s goal, and Cody Hellstrom posted the shutout for Schoharie with 12 saves. Fonda-Fultonville goalie Austin Araya stopped 14 shots.
Northville beat Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons 3-0, with Jacob Frank scoring twice for the Falcons. Garrett Shepard also scored for Northville, and Landon Ginter had a pair of assists, while Landon Frasier notched a shutout with two saves. Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons goalie Andrew Baaki finished with five saves.
Brody Page scored a hat trick within the first 25 minutes of the match to lead Mayfield to a 3-0 win against Canajoharie. Nate Fetrow assisted on two goals and Brice Williams had one assist for Mayfield, while goalie Sean Foreman ended with five saves. Canajoharie’s Will Douglass stopped 11 shots.
In the Foothills Council, Kofi Jack was involved in seven goals — scoring five and assisting on two — in Scotia-Glenville’s 12-0 win over Hudson Falls. Xavier DeLuca added two goals and four assists for the Tartans, who also got goals from Connor Raven, Quinn Fascigilione, Saif AbuZahra, Matt Schraa and Tevaughn Carr. Zach Place needed two saves to ensure the shutout.
Glens Falls beat Amsterdam 2-0 behind first-half goals from Nate DiFiore and Landan Phipps. Gavin Rittenhouse and Duvaney Mills each had assists for Glens Falls, and Ayden Grieve recorded a one-save shutout. Amsterdam got 13 saves from Alex Jablonski.
Josh Delancy knocked home a loose ball following a second-half corner kick to send South Glens Falls to a 1-0 win over Broadalbin-Perth.
Schuylerville’s Alex Renner scored three second-half goals in a 4-0 win over Gloversville. Sam Tyler also scored for the Black Horses. Gloversville was led by goalie Connor Kohn’s seven saves.
Ian Rathbun and Luke Eichin each scored three goals in Queensbury’s 11-0 win over Johnstown. Chris Combes added two goals for Queensbury, with Max Roca providing a goal and three assists, while Ben Barber and Ryan Brindle also scored. Johnstown’s Pedrick Maddox made 13 saves.
Tommy Wendel scored three goals, and Scotty Lynch added two as Mechanicville beat Waterford-Halfmoon 5-0 in the Wasaren League. Goalie Dylan Raucci made eight saves for Mechanicville.
BACHORIK, MULLIN SPARK MOHONASEN GIRLS’ SOCCER
Hannah Bachorik and Ella Mullin scored two goals each for Mohonasen in its 5-1 Colonial Council girls’ soccer win over Voorheesville. Olivia Andriola also scored for Mohonasen, with Mullin, Catelyn Hodge, Kaitlyn Pelts and Sarah Leclerc each contributing an assist. Lily Farrell scored for Voorheesville.
Cohoes beat Ichabod Crane 4-1, with Quincy Hytko scoring two goals for the Tigers to go along with a goal each from Isabella Buttofucco and Carissa Shanahan. Brianna Hollister scored for Ichabod Crane, which also got 20 saves from Ashley Ames.
Korynn Kretser’s goal at the 63:16 mark of the second half helped Canajoharie to a 4-3 Western Athletic Conference victory over Mayfield. Mariah Hazzard, Soren Veit-Scott and Giana Murphy had a goal and an assist each for Canajoharie. Jaidyn Chest scored all of Mayfield’s goals.
Claire Scram scored three times in Berne-Knox-Westerlo’s 6-1 victory over Fort Plain. Alanna Yandon, Sydney Mosende and Ashlee Stevens also scored for B-K-W. Michel Quiroz had Fort Plain’s goal.
Duanesburg beat Middleburgh 2-0 on a pair of Shannon Zink goals. Laura Thomason added an assist for Duanesburg. For Middleburgh, Kaitlyn Wood made six saves.
In a non-league matchup, Northville got five goals and two assists from Kaelin Thompson in a 13-1 win over Johnstown. Sophia Reidell added three goals and two assists and Ciara Thompson had two goals and three assists for Northville, which also got a goal each from Leah Valovic, Ryann Morgan and Caitlin Clapper. The Falcons outshot Johnstown 44-1.
SARATOGA SPRINGS FIELD HOCKEY WINS
Saratoga Springs beat Schuylerville 4-0 in a non-league field hockey match. Aubrey Ide had a goal and an assist for the Blue Streaks. Viviana Nicastro, Allie Shamberger and Alyssa Smullen also scored. Maddie Miller had two assists.
MECHANICVILLE GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL TRIUMPHS
Jazzelle McLean had five kills and Emma LaPierre had nine assists and five aces for Mechanicville in a 25-14, 25-16, 25-17 Wasaren League girls’ volleyball win over Cambridge. Jenna Tesoriero added six aces and three kills for Mechanicville. Gabby Fazioli had three aces and four digs for Cambridge.
In the Colonial Council, undefeated Ichabod Crane beat Catholic Central 25-19, 25-21, 25-19 behind 13 kills and 23 digs from Emma Scheitinger. Emma Holmberg added nine kills, Ally Flint added six kills and 26 digs, and setters Delany More and Angie O’Leary combined for 29 assists.
Hannah Borski served up 15 aces among her 19 points and added nine kills in Duanesburg’s 25-7, 25-9, 25-20 non-league sweep of Loudonville Christian. Heather Black added seven aces, 11 points and 11 assists for Duanesburg, which served 36 aces as a team.
