SCHENECTADY — Schenectady Community Ministries will host a fall fundraiser at its Vale Urban Farm next week.

Tickets for the Oct. 6 fundraiser are $75, with proceeds benefiting the nonprofit’s efforts to combat food insecurity. The ticket includes a tour of the Vale farm, light fare, herbal mocktail tastings and a commemorative gift, according to a news release.

“This unique event is an opportunity to expand health and wellness in another dimension,” the release reads. “At Vale Farm, you will be surrounded by the natural space provided to grow many of the herbs featured in our alcohol-free beverages.”

The event will also feature guest speakers and provide attendees an opportunity to learn more about the organization and its efforts to lower barriers for food access.

SiCM operates a community hub at 837 Albany St. in Schenectady, which includes a food pantry, where the organization provides thousands of meals throughout the year. SiCM also distributes thousands of meals to area youth at no charge through its summer meal program.

“Your donation enables SiCM to better serve the families we are committed to assisting,” the release states.

The SiCM Mocktails at Vale Fundraiser will take place Oct. 6 from 5-7 p.m. To purchase tickets, visit sicm.us. Anyone with questions should contact Laura Pinckney at: [email protected] or by calling 518-374-2683 EXT. 103.
