Francesca LoGrippo and Micaela Tahoe scored Shaker’s tying and go-ahead goals as the Blue Bison rallied for a 3-2 win over Shenendehowa in girls’ Suburban Council soccer play Thursday.
All of the scoring came in the first half, with Shenendehowa’s Anna Burdick and Cali Augustino sandwiching tallies around a goal by Shaker’s Lyndsay McCulloch, who was assisted by Tahoe.
Riley Stevenson notched two goals, and Marie Bogue, Avery Kerr, Ashlynn Boyce and Erika Levernois each supplied Guilderland with another in a 6-0 victory over Albany.
Kaleigh West scored a goal in each half, Megan Goyette scored a goal, and Maddie Mills and Anna Joyce combined for seven saves in Niskayuna’s 3-1 win over Bethlehem. Erika Ruth scored for the Eagles.
Sofia Sanzo scored three goals, and Julia Bancheri picked up a goal and an assist for the Colonie in a 5-3 win over Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake. Brooke DuFour had Colonie’s other goal.
Olivia Rogers had three goals and two assists, Jillian Sassanella had three goals and one assist, Macie Perry had a goal and three assists, and Mianna Barboza had a goal and two assists for Broadalbin-Perth in a 13-0 Foothills Council win over Gloversville. Chase Tyler, Aubrey Fisher, Molly Russom, Bella Cowan and Bella Hernandez also scored for the Patriots.
The Schalmont girls got past Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk 5-0 in a Colonial Council game, with Meg Lasher scoring two goals and Simone Cassano gathering a goal and two assists for the Sabres. Annalise Tyler and Gianna Cirilla had Schalmont’s other goals.
Lily Farrell produced four goals in Voorheesville’s 5-0 win over Watervliet.
Marissa Krosky piled up three goals and two assists, Madison Daley had a goal and two assists, and Mechanicville soared past Tamarac 7-0 in a Wasaren League game. Courtney Toher, Allie Kenyon and Evie Dowd also scored for Mechanicville.
Lucia DeVito scored Saratoga Springs’ first two goals, Keegan Reinhart made it 3-0, and the Blue Streaks downed Schuylerville 6-1 in a non-league contest. Keria Rogan got Schuylerville on the board before Paige Barlow, Mazie Neville and Analise Rodriguez completed the Saratoga scoring.
Sydney Schell had two goals and an assist, Julia Elwood and Jordan DeNinno both had a goal and two assists, and OESJ topped Fort Plain 6-0 in a Western Athletic Conference game played Wednesday.
BLUE STREAKS UNBEATEN IN SC
Ryan Farr and Flagg Taylor scored goals three minutes apart in the first half, and Evan Hallett added a second-half goal to propel Saratoga Springs past CBA 3-0 in a Suburban Council boys’ soccer match. The Blue Streaks improved to 7-0-1 in the league.
Camryn Curet’s goal inside the final minute gave Colonie a 4-4 tie with Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake. Lucca Forenzo scored two goals for Colonie and the Garnet Raiders benefited from an own goal by the Spartans. Ben Yerina had a hat trick for Burnt Hills, Ryan Cassidy had the other goal, and Atticus Marvin had a pair of assists..
Averill Park and Columbia played to a 0-0 tie, with Brady Mazzeo making 11 saves for the Warriors and Alexander Roy making six stops for the Blue Devils.
Theo Haworth’s goal lifted Albany Academy over Cohoes 1-0 in Colonial Council action.
Damien Cruz scored two goals including a successful penalty kick, and Ben Cruz also connected in Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk’s 3-2 win over Schalmont. Aidyn Soehl scored both goals for the Sabres.
Andrew Snell scored three goals and added an assist, and Jordon Simzer and Will Brundage both had a goal and an assist in OESJ’s 5-0 Western Athletic Conference win over Fort Plain. Colin Eakin made four saves for the shutout.
BURNT HILLS, SHENENDEHOWA POST SWEEPS
Danielle DeBonis amassed 33 assists, and Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake went to 7-0 in the Suburban Council girls’ volleyball standings with a 25-17, 25-12, 25-13 win over Colonie. Peyton Felix had seven kills for the Spartans, and Abbie Harper served six aces.
Sabrina Kinkaid collected seven kills, six aces and 10 service points, and Emma Paliwodzinski totaled 23 assists, 11 digs and eight service points as part of Shenendehowa’s 25-13, 25-7, 25-14 win over Shaker. Reagan Ennist had nine kills, Genny Sala had seven kills, and Kasia Barletta had 14 digs to help the Plainsmen go to 8-0 in the SC. Bri Hardwick had seven assists and five digs for Shaker.
Columbia got 15 kills and 26 digs from Natalie Litrell in a 26-24, 26-24, 16-25, 25-14 win over Averill Park. Alivia Landy had eight kills for Columbia, and Lauryn Forand had 30 assists, four aces and eight digs. Emily Prest led Averill Park with 12 kills, and Cam Daley and Grace Kelley both had five kills.
Niskayuna beat Bethlehem 25-20, 25-19, 16-25, 19-25, 15-13 behind Ava Schewe’s 14 kills, Anjana Kurian’s 21 assists, eight kills and 11 digs, Audrey Mason’s 21 assists and six kills, Keira Gullickson’s 22 digs and six kills, and Julia Mason’s 19 digs. Caroline Davis had five kills and seven blocks for the Eagles, and Kait Tietjen had seven kills.
Katie Dickerson served for 14 points and four aces, assisted on 13 points and added five digs for Guilderland in a 25-9, 20-25, 25-16, 25-20 win over Albany. Emily Norgrove had six kills and five digs for Guilderland, and Sara Allen had 11 digs and five assists. Laila Baum had six kills for Albany, Breanna Kelley had 17 digs, and Emily O’Keefe totaled 14 assists.
SCHALMONT FOUR SET WINNER
Elena Lybrand and Haley Rider had six kills apiece, and Lybrand anchored Schalmont’s defense with 12 digs in a 25-11, 14-25, 25-19, 25-20 Colonial Council win over Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk. Alexa Knapik had 12 assists for the Sabres, and Mikayla Townsend had 10 digs.
Maggie Segmour had 10 kills, eight digs and four aces, and Kylie McLaughlin assisted 25 times for Holy Names in a 25-6, 25-12, 25-21 win over Mohonasen.
Camille Calderone, Haley Tomlinson and Sami Westfall served six, five and four aces, respectively, and Jordyn Sowle had a team-high seven kills in Broadalbin-Perth’s 25-11, 25-5, 25-18 Foothills Council triumph over Gloversville. Calderone led the Patriots with 15 service points to go with six kills.
Tori Nardini had seven kills and 12 service points, and Scotia-Glenville rallied for a 16-25, 25-15, 23-25, 25-22, 15-11 win over Amsterdam. Kelley Kristel had five kills for the Tartans, and Grace Letterman had 14 assists. Peyton Hoefs had 16 service points and five aces for the Rams, Annie Fedullo had 18 service points and four kills, and Janolys Lopez had nine digs.
FASOLINO REACHES 1,000 ASSISTS
Sophia Fasolino had 23 assists to move past 1,000 for her career, and Amber Kolpakas collected 21 kills to lead Galway past Middleburgh 25-2, 25-16, 25-17 in a Western Athletic Conference volleyball match. Carolyn Bruchac had 19 service points and four aces for Galway. Middleburgh got five kills and five assists from Megan Bramer and 11 digs from Hallee Haemmerle.
Alanah Barnhill had eight kills, Amelia Armano had seven aces, and Gabriella Luna had seven assists and four aces in Mekeel Christian Academy’s 25-20, 25-16, 25-18 WAC win over OESJ. Brooke Trumble had four assists, four digs and three kills for OESJ.
Mayfield got nine kills and eight digs from Madison King, and 26 assists and four aces from Lilia White, in a 25-20, 25-17, 23-25, 25-21 win over Berne-Knox Westerlo. Mera Fitzgerald served six aces for Mayfield, and Morgan Ashline finished with eight kills and six digs. McKenzie Schwenk had four kills for BKW.
Amber Cole sparked Fonda-Fultonville’ 25-6, 25-14, 25-22 win over Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons with six aces, 15 assists and four kills. Julia Dobkowski had 11 digs for the Knights.
Loudonville Christian beat Fort Plain in a non-league match 25-16, 20-25, 25-19, 25-21. Gab Murphy had seven kills and Kierstan Horender had six aces for the Hilltoppers.
COLONIE TOPS CBA
Dylan Fox delivered 17 kills, Mike Ferst assisted on 15 points, and Colonie defeated CBA in a boys’ Suburban Council volleyball match Wednesday 25-20, 26-24, 25-14. Trevor Grimes and Ethan Grazulis paced CBA with eight blocks and seven kills, respectively.
BARKER, KREMPA SPARK JOHNSTOWN
Jena Barker and Cole Krempa both scored two goals in a five-goal, second-quarter outburst, and Johnstown beat Schuylerville 7-0 in a Foothills Council field hockey game. Barker also scored in the fourth quarter assisted by Krempa, Emily Partell and Nicole Simon added goals, and Ayaka Sasaki had all three of her assists in the Lady Bills’ big second quarter.
Columbia edged Niskayuna in a Suburban Council field hockey game Wednesday 1-0 on a third-quarter goal by Morgan Donnelly, assisted by Kaylin Jacob.
