
HALFMOON – Both drivers in a weekend two-car crash on the Northway in Halfmoon were impaired and have been charged, New York State Police said Thursday.
Both drivers were also taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment of what police described as non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The crash happened at about 4 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 87 northbound in Halfmoon, police said.
The investigation determined the driver of the first vehicle, age 18, struck the rear of a vehicle operated by Anjelica R. Espinoza Flores, 22, of San Antonio, Tex., police said. Police did not identify the 18-year-old driver.

The investigation then determined both drivers were impaired at the time and both drivers were issued tickets for driving while intoxicated, police said.
Police did not process them immediately due to their medical needs, police said.
Espinoza Flores was processed Wednesday and released to appear in court later. The 18-year-old driver is to be processed later, police said.
The crash led to Interstate 87 northbound being shut down for a short time to clear the accident, police said.
