The crash happened just before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday on the Northway in Malta.

Troopers determined Michaud was at fault and that he was intoxicated, police said. Troopers also learned Michaud had a prior DWI conviction in 10 years, making the newest charge a felony.

Michaud’s blood alcohol content was later recorded at 0.15 percent, above the legal limit of 0.08 percent, police said.

Michaud was processed and released to a sober third party to appear in court later.
