Saratoga Sheriff: Hadley motorcyclist killed in Tuesday night one-vehicle crash; Passenger flown to Albany Med

HADLEY – A motorcyclist from Hadley was killed and a passenger injured in a Tuesday night one-vehicle crash, Saratoga County Sheriff’s officials said.

Motorcyclist Eric A. McFarlane, 48, of Hadley, died at the scene, officials said. His passenger Dennis J. Mason, 45, also of Hadley, was flown to Albany Medical Center with injuries described as serious, officials said.

The crash happened just before 8:30 p.m. Tuesday on Harris Road in Hadley. Deputies responded there for a report of a serious personal injury accident.

They arrived to find a three-wheeled motorcycle, operated by McFarlane, had left the roadway and struck a tree, officials said. Both McFarlane and Mason were ejected from the motorcycle.

The accident is being investigated by the Sheriff’s Accident Reconstruction Unit. Assistance at the scene was provided by Hadley-Luzerne Fire, Hadley-Luzerne EMS and Corinth Fire and Corinth EMS.
