The Schenectady Police Department Friday announced the arrest of a second person charged with the January 2019 murder of Roscoe Foster.

Police have charged Leffon Adams Jr., 31, of Schenectady, with first-degree murder in the Foster case, as well as first-degree attempted robbery and second-degree conspiracy

Foster, 38, was shot dead in his car at approximately 1 a.m. Jan. 25, 2019 at the corner of Becker and Linden Streets in Schenectady’s Central State Street neighborhood

The first person charged with Foster’s murder was arrested in August, but police did not release the person’s name due to him being 16 or 17 years old at the time of the murder. The man was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree attempted robbery and fourth-degree conspiracy

The Schenectady Police Department issued the news release about the arrest of Adams Friday via the department’s Facebook page. SPD stated it was assisted in the investigation by the United States Marshals and FBI Safe Streets Task Force.

“The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information at this time,” reads the SPD social media post.
