LOUDONVILLE — The Siena women’s basketball team just missed the century mark on Thursday night, defeating Rider 94-63 at the UHY Center.
The Saints, who improved to 7-3 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and 13-7 overall, took command by outsourcing the Broncs (2-9, 5-15) 53-29 in the first half, and had 80 points through three quarters.
Teresa Seppala led the Siena offense with 22 points on 8 for 9 from the field that included 4 for 4 from 3-point range.
Overall, the Saints made 11 of 24 3-pointers (45.8%).
Siena actually trailed 6-0 to start the game, but went on a 12-0 run from there, capped by Anajah Brown’s 3-pointer.
A 3 by Seppala, a layup and free throw by Brown put the Saints up 37-20 with 6:52 left in the first half, and Siena increased the margin to 21, 51-30, on two free throws by London Gamble.
Seppala also led Siena with nine rebounds, and Ahniysha Jackson (15 points), Gamble (13), Elisa Mevius (12) and Brown (11) all hit double digits in scoring.
