BALLSTON SPA – A Niskayuna man has been arrested on burglary and assault charges in Ballston Spa, Ballston Spa Police said Monday.
William C. Ferrara, 34, of Niskayuna, was arrested Saturday and charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree assault and other charges, police said.
The investigation began just before 1 a.m. Saturday when police were called for a report of a man who had assaulted his ex-wife’s boyfriend at a residence on Victory Circle and then fled, police said.
The investigation determined that Ferrara had entered the home and assaulted the man there with a wine bottle, causing injuries to the man’s head and body, police said.
The victim was treated at the scene and taken to Malta Emergent Care, police said. He was treated and later released. The woman present was not injured, police said.
Ballston Spa police later, with the help of Niskayuna police, found and arrested Ferrara at his residence in Niskayuna, police said.
Ferrara was also charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, misdemeanors.
Ferrara was arraigned and ordered held on $25,000 bail.
