HIGH SCHOOLS – The Schalmont boys’ basketball team took a 54-33 halftime lead and went on to defeat Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons 94-69 in the Zero Gravity North/South Showcase at the Washington Avenue Armory in Albany on Sunday.
Isaia Smith scored 28 points for the Sabres, Ryan Woodrow scored 16 and Elijah Smith, Nick Masick and Andrew Schraa each scored 12.
In a North/South game played on Saturday, the Northville boys took Rensselaer to overtime, before the Rams won 50-45.
Evan Tamulaitis scored 16 points for Northville, and Jacob Frank scored 11.
Jaguar Jones led the Golden Knights with 25 points, and Esiasyn Starr scored 14.
Daniel Smalls scored 19 points as the Niskayuna boys’ basketball team squeaked out a 50-49 victory over Newburgh Free Academy in the Zero Gravity North/South Showcase.
In a non-league girls’ basketball game, Bishop Ludden defeated Albany Academy 80-62. Eva Gitto scored 19 points for Academy.
