Watts leads Siena men’s lacrosse past Sacred Heart

LOUDONVILLE — Christian Watts scored two of his four goals in the fourth quarter to lift Siena to an 11-8 MAAC men’s lacrosse victory over Sacred Heart at Hickey Field.

The game was tied at 8 after three quarters. Watts snapped the tie 44 seconds into the fourth quarter with a man-up goal.

Another man-up goal, this time by Travis Fry, gave the Saints (3-2) a two-goal lead with 11:25 left.  After a Sacred Heart man-up goal by Jake Garb with 9:29 left, Wats scored 51 seconds later.

Zac Schuette’s goal with 5:35 remaining sealed the win for Siena.

Pratt Reynolds scored three goals for Siena, which visits VMI next Saturday.

SCHENECTADY — Peter Kip scored four goals, and the No. 5/6-ranked Dutchmen had 13 players score at least one goal and 16 players record at least one point in a non-conference rout of the Lions at Frank Bailey Field.

After Benson Offit gave Emerson (3-4) a 1-0 lead 1:43 into the game, Union (5-0) got the next five goals from Peter Burnes, Jake Mabardy, Kip, Jake Titus and Michael Shaw to take control of the game.

Burnes finished with two goals and three assists for Union, which returns to action March 21 when it plays Middlebury in Austin, Texas.
