DAVIS, Cal. — The UAlbany women’s lacrosse team rallied from a halftime deficit to defeat UC Davis 17-15 in a non-league matchup Wednesday.
UAlbany jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but UC Davis responded with five consecutive goals. The Great Danes (4-4) got one back before the first quarter ended. After a back-and-forth second quarter, they trailed 9-8 at halftime.
UC Davis (4-3) scored the first three goals of the third quarter to lead 12-8, and led 13-10 before UAlbany got goals from Ava Poupard, Shonly Wallace and Sarah Falk to tie it at 13 entering the fourth.
UC Davis went ahead 14-13 just 39 seconds into the quarter, but UAlbany answered with four goals in under four minutes, including two from Wallace, who led UAlbany with five goals and one assist.
Grace Gebhardt paced UC Davis with five goals. Lauren Picardi and Alannah Scott each had three, while goalie Ashley Laing had a strong game with 16 saves.
Katie Pascale had four goals and an assist for the Great Danes. Falk had three goals, and Poupard added two. Bryar Hogg contributed a goal and three assists.
