SCHENECTADY – Three businesses failed a New York State Police underage alcohol sales sting and sold to minors, police said Friday.
Eighteen other businesses passed.
Along with the three businesses cited, troopers charged three people with unlawfully dealing with a child, a misdemeanor.
Troopers identified the three businesses cited as:
- Mikey Mart Valero, 6030 Duanesburg Road, Duanesburg
- Market 32, 442 Balltown Road, Niskayuna
- Annand Discount Wine & Liquor, 1437 Broadway, Schenectady
Troopers did not identify in a release the three individuals cited.
The 18 other businesses that passed and did not sell included 14 in Schenectady and five in Rotterdam, troopers said.
During the stings, businesses are checked using a trooper in plainclothes and one or several underage operatives who cannot lie about their age or provide a false date of birth, police said.
