Ballston Spa man, 19, accused in assault on 3-month-old child in Milton, Saratoga Sheriff says

BALLSTON SPA – A Ballston Spa man has been arrested, accused of assaulting a 3-month-old child in Milton, Saratoga County Sheriff’s officials said.

A release Thursday described the child’s injuries as serious, but did not give an update on the child’s condition.

Charged was Jacob E. Krall, 19, of Ballston Spa. Krall was arrested Wednesday and charged with one count of second-degree assault, a felony, officials said.

The investigation began Sunday as deputies responded to a report of a 3-month-old child in respiratory distress in Milton, officials said.

The child was treated at the scene and taken to the hospital, officials said.

The investigation then led to Krall, a relation of the child, and to his arrest, officials said.

“Krall is accused of violently assaulting the 3-month-old child resulting in serious physical injuries,” the sheriff’s release read.

Krall was arraigned and ordered held on bail, officials said.

There is nothing in society more heinous than victimizing our most vulnerable,” Sheriff Michael Zurlo said in a statement. “My office will go to any lengths to provide justice to all victims, especially children.”
