Queensbury girls lacrosse rolls past Glens Falls in season opener

HIGH SCHOOLS – Kendra Ballard finished with three goals and a career-high four assists to lead Queensbury to a 21-5 victory over Glens Falls in a Foothills Council girls’ lacrosse game Monday at Glens Falls High School.

It was the 100th straight Foothills Council victory for the Spartans.

Glens Falls was the last Foothills squad to best QHS with a 10-9 decision at Glens Falls on April 23, 2012. Since Foothills action began in 2010, the Spartans are now 128-3 against their league foes.

Kaitlyn Barton finished with four goals and an assist for Queensbury (1-0 overall, 1-0 Foothills), while Lilly Trowbridge had three goals and two assists. Kendal Kelsey registered two goals and three assists for the Spartans, and Meredith Montgomery, Sarah Johnson, and Emerson Lochner-Fehl all netted two goals.

Ava Pirozzolo led Glens Falls with three goals and two assists. Brooke Eggleston and Cara Harrington also scored for the Indians (0-1 overall, 0-1 Foothills), while Frances McTiernan added an assist.
