High Schools: Guilderland wins non-league boys’ lacrosse game

Cooper McGonaghy had four goals and two assists to lead Guilderland to an 18-4 win over Voorheesville on Friday in a non-league boys’ lacrosse victory. Quinn Orsini contributed three goals and two assists. Andrew Cillis had a goal and two assists for Voorheesville.

Nathan Wolfe and Vincent Goldman accounted for seven goals in Shenendehowa’s 20-1 Suburban Council victory over Colonie.

C-A EDGES BRAVES

Leigha Wiley went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs to lead Coxsackie-Athens to an 11-9 non-league softball win over Fonda-Fultonville. Wiley also pitched a complete game, allowing just three earned runs. Bella Bushane had two hits and two RBIs in the win. For Fonda-Fultonville, Scout Huckans and Emily Furnare each went 2 for 3 with two RBIs. Harper Huckans added three RBIs.

MONTGOMERY PACES QUEENSBURY

Meredith Montgomery had seven goals and one assist, while Lily Trowbridge added five goals and four assists in leading Queensbury to a 33-4 win over Johnstown in Foothills Council girls’ lacrosse. The Spartans had 12 goal scorers. Molly Sweeney scored all of Johnstown’s goals.

In non-league action, Gwen Jamison had half of Averill Park’s goals, scoring five in the Warriors’ 10-3 win over Cohoes. Gianna Geraci added three goals, while Ellie Garrison and Rachael Strickland each made three saves.
