Siena men’s lacrosse cruises to win over Wagner

LOUDONVILLE — Ryan McCarthy put up a career-high seven points, Pratt Reynolds scored four goals and goalie Chris Yanchoris turned in a dominant effort in the cage, leading Siena men’s lacrosse in a 13-6 MAAC win over Wagner on Saturday at Hickey Field.

McCarthy finished with three goals and four assists for the Saints (3-2 MAAC, 5-4 overall) in the team’s second straight win.

Siena rolled to a 4-0 lead after the first quarter, then saw Wagner (1-4, 2-8) cut the lead in half during the second quarter before the Saints responded with six of the next seven goals to lead 10-3 midway through the third quarter.

In addition to McCarthy and Reynolds’ big games, Christian Watts added a pair of goals and George Rusnak chipped in a goal and three assists. Yanchoris made 14 saves on 20 Wagner shots.

Siena will be back in action next Saturday when the Saints travel to Hamden, Connecticut to face Quinnipiac.
