Badar, Saratoga Springs top Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake in boys’ lacrosse

HIGH SCHOOLS – Jacob Badar scored five goals to help lead Saratoga Springs to a 13-7 win over Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake in Suburban Council boys’ lacrosse action Tuesday. Tobey Diulio contributed four goals in the win, and Zachary Nacheman made seven saves. Colden Swisher’s two goals and one assist paced Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake. Nick Bailey and Ryan Lussier each scored two goals.

Six players scored at least two goals apiece in Ballston Spa’s 20-0 shutout of Averill Park. Peter Siracuse led the way with four goals and two assists. Sean Dwyer had three goals and four assists, with Luke Staszak and Landon Potter each collecting three goals and an assist. 

Zack Nocak made 13 saves to help Bethlehem earn a 6-2 win over Guilderland. Dane Jones and Luke Johnson each scored twice in the victory. Aidan Tice and Quinn Orsini scored for the Dutchmen.

Tanner Malone had three goals and an assist, as Columbia edged CBA 13-10. Jack Marra made 15 saves. Francesco Raso led CBA with three goals and two assists.

In Colonial Council action, Rorick Perry finished with eight goals and one assist as Schenectady/Mohonasen shut out Ichabod Crane/Maple Hill 18-0. Azai Baker added five goals and three assists. Ryan DellaRocco had three goals and two assists. Karsen Randall made 11 saves for Ichabod Crane/Maple Hill.

Austin Stark scored half of Scotia-Glenville’s goals, with seven, in the Tartans’ 14-1 win over Hudson Falls in Foothills Council action. Nick Lemp contributed four goals and two assists. Nick Coons won 14 faceoffs. PJ Suprenant made 28 saves for Hudson Falls.

YOUNG FANS 15 IN ONE-HITTER

Tori Young struck out 15 and fired a one-hitter to lead South Glens Falls to a 9-0 non-league softball win over Lake George. Jade Maille had a grand slam, while Emily Kamber added a home run and two RBIs. Shannon Starratt’s double was Lake George’s lone hit.

Ariana Loucks hit a walk-off, two-run single to give Mayfield a 3-2 win over Duanesburg in Western Athletic Conference softball action. Alexis Broderick had two doubles and two runs for Mayfield, and Kaylee Klymkow struck out nine for the win. Allie Mienaltowski struck out eight for Duanesburg, and added two singles and a run.

Cayla Schhumbmehl struck out 12 and threw a perfect game in Catholic Central’s 22-0 win over Lansingburgh in a Colonial Council game.

SAUGERTIES OUTSLUGS SCHENECTADY

Saugerties had eight runs in the first and six in the sixth in topping Schenectady 17-11 in non-league baseball action. Max Peters went 3 for 4 with four RBIs for Schenectady. Jordan Dietz added a double and three RBIs., while Dame Royal was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI.

Andrew Gabriel and John DelGrosso homered in Columbia’s 12-4 win over Queensbury. Steven Heller doubled and had three RBIs in the win. Carson Correa doubled and had two RBIs to lead Queensbury.

Waterford-Halfmoon earned a walk-off 5-4 win over Hadley-Luzerne. Tristan Carutasu went 3 for 4 with three doubles and three RBIs to lead the Fordians. Logan Kelly and Matt Soden combined to strike out nine.

Blake Kilgallon hit two doubles and scored twice to lead Averill Park to a 10-2 win over South Glens Falls. Brady Mazzeo drove in two runs. 

Luke Sherman went 3 for 3 with two doubles and three RBIs, as Schuylerville topped Hoosic Valley 14-1. 

Carson Moser went 4 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs to help Saratoga Central Catholic to an 11-3 Wasaren League win over Hoosick Falls. Kihl Kelly was 4 for 5 with three doubles and two RBIs. Hunter Fales added two doubles and three runs. Jake Sparks homered for Hoosick Falls, while Cole Ziehm was 2 for 3 with two RBIs.

SHENENDEHOWA DOUBLES UP NISKAYUNA

Shenendehowa had eight goal-scorers in a 12-6 Suburban Council girls’ lacrosse win over Niskayuna. Kelly Augeri had two goals and one assist for the Plainsmen. Bridget Bailey, Carrie Bennett and Emily Speck each added two goals. Ava Roemer had four goals for Niskayuna, which got 16 saves from Emma Batko.

Gianna Geraci had five goals and an assist in leading Averill Park to a 14-8 win over Ballston Spa in Suburban Council girls’ lacrosse. Gwen Jamison added four goals and two assists in the win, while Izzy O’Leary and Lindsay LaPlantz each had two goals and one assist for Ballston Spa.

Lauren O’Hagan scored four goals to lead Shaker to a 19-4 win over Columbia. Natalie Bennett added three goals and two assists. Molly Marra had two goals for Columbia.

Maeve Conway scored five goals to lead Bethlehem to a 19-5 win over Guilderland. Caroline Marotta added three goals in the victory. Elizabeth Schafer and Olivia Bigness each scored twice for Guilderland.

Caroline Kogut had five goals and three assists to lead a balanced Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake attack in its 22-3 win over Albany. Grace Kogut added four goals and four assists. Peyton Felix and Emma Winslow each contributed four goals and one assist. Leah John had a goal and an assist for Albany.
