High schools: Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake baseball rallies past Troy

HIGH SCHOOLS – Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to get past Troy 4-3 Suburban Council baseball Wednesday.  Luke Zoller went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Burnt Hills. Matt Martin went 1-for-2 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored in the win.

Niskayuna took advantage of four Albany errors and scored four runs late for a 9-2 win. Niskayuna starting pitcher Justin Sargent struck out nine batters in his 4 1/3 innings of work. Duncan Munro went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored for Niskayuna. Dylan Mennillo went 2-for-4 with three runs scored in the win.

Shenendehowa’s Evan Kochanskyj reached on a dropped third strike in the top of the seventh inning, advanced on two groundouts before scoring on a wild pitch for a 1-0 win against Ballston Spa. 

A four-run sixth inning powered Colonie past Guilderland, 6-1. Colonie’s Tyler Figuero went 2-for-3 with a double and a home run, driving in three runs in the game.

Three CBA pitchers limited Schenectady to three hits in a 6-3 victory. Chris McLaughlin paced CBA with his 2-for-2 day at the plate, driving in a run and scoring twice.

A three-run first inning propelled Shaker past Bethlehem, 4-2. Thomas Case, Cameron Mailloux and Dominic Aquino each rapped out doubles for Shaker in the win.

Saratoga Springs starting pitcher Michael Mack struck out nine batters in five innings in a 19-2 win against Averill Park. Owen Redick went 3-for-4 with a double, triple, two RBIs and four runs scored in the win.

Mohonasen’s Dillon DePiero delivered a two-run sacrifice fly to score AnthonyFasolino and Marvin Hill for the go-ahead runs in a 5-3 Colonial Council contest. Hill went 1-for-3 with a home run for Mohonasen.

Albany Academy pitchers Geneo Savoca and Scott Hanson combined for a no-hitter in a 14-3 win over La Salle. Albany Academy’s Gianni DiCerbo went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Ichabod Crane’s Kyle Bartlett went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs in an 11-1 win over Lansingburgh. Nate Garafalo went 2-for-4 with three RBIs.

Fonda-Fultonville exploded for 16 runs in the second inning on its way to a 27-2, five-inning Western Athletic Conference win against OESJ/Dolgeville Wednesday.

Fonda-Fultonville’s William Hernigle went 3-for-3 with a double and four RBI and Logan Yaggle went 4-for-5 with 4 RBI.

Mechanicville used a six-run fifth inning to push past Greenwich 14-6 in Wasaren League action. Colin Richardson and Fen Eagan each had two hits and two RBIs for Mechanicville.

Berne-Knox-Westerlo’s Hunter Smith went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored in a 12-2 non-league win over Middleburgh. Dayne Coates, Blake Shaver and James Moseby each had two hits and scored two runs in the win.

Stillwater pounded out 18 hits as they cruised to a 26-1 non-league win against Berlin/New Lebanon. Colden McDonagh had four hits, including two doubles and a home run in the win.

RHOADES STRIKES OUT 15 FOR BH-BL

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake pitcher Katie Rhoades struck out 15 batters on her way to a 3-0 Suburban Council softball win against Troy. 

Niskayuna pitcher Ariah Fiore struck out 10 batters in a 12-5 win over Albany. At the plate she went 2-for-2 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored. Maddie Isabelle went 2-for-5 with a double and four RBIs.

Saratoga Springs scored six-runs in the fifth inning to propel past Averill Park, 11-5. Sarah Decker went 2-for-4, including a double and a home run for four RBIs. Mackenzie Waghorn went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and five RBIs.

Shenendehowa posted a five-run sixth inning in an 8-1 win over Ballston Spa. Shenendehowa’s Breanna Hayes struck out 13 batters in the win. Kelsey Higgins went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run.

Shaker’s Hannah Hipwell got the job done in the circle and at the plate in a 15-0 win against Bethlehem. Hipwell pitched three shutout innings, striking out six and went 3-for-3 at the plate with a pair of home runs and a double.

Colonie rallied for three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to defeat Guilderland, 13-11. Katie Parisi went 5-for-5 with a double, home run and four RBIs. Adrianna Laraway hit a double and a grand slam in the win. Guilderland’s Laila Smith went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs.

Galway’s Amber Kolpakas struck out 20 in eight innings in a 7-2 Western Athletic Conference win over Schoharie. Galway scored five runs in the top of the eighth for the win. Courtney Smith went 2-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored.

Mohonasen outhit Cohoes, but couldn’t plate enough runners in a 6-3 Colonial Council loss. Kate Leclerc went 3-for-3 for Mohonasen. Kiera Rogers struck out eight batters in the loss.

Ichabod Crane’s Emma Scheitinger went 2-for-4 with six RBIs and scored five times as the Riders dropped Lansingburgh, 32-1.

Holy Trinity’s Bridget Danskin had three hits in a 7-4 non-league win over Schalmont. Skier Wessels went the distance for the win.
