
ST. JOHNSVILLE – A St. Johnsville man has been arrested on gun and drug felonies after a raid this week, St. Johnsville police said.
Robert A. Meyers Jr., 46, of 44 Hough St., was arrested after the Monday raid and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, first-degree criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree criminal possession of cannabis, felonies.
The New York State Police Special Operations Response Team raided two locations on Hough Street, first 17 Hough and then Meyers’ residence at 44 Hough, police said.
Police raided the first address after a 10-month investigation into the sale and possession of methamphetamine from that location, police said. Information obtained in that raid then led to Meyers’ residence ta 44 Hough St. Police were able to raid that residence just over seven hours later, police said.
The searches included members of the St. Johnsville Police Department, New York State Police and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department.
Police seized numerous handguns and long guns at both locations, police said. The guns were illegally possessed, including four “ghost” guns, three stolen guns and three non-compliant AR15s, along with several high-capacity magazines, police said.
Police also seized 40 pounds of processed marijuana, 24.3 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 4.6 grams of Adderall and $20,000 in cash, police said.
Police estimated the methamphetamine had a street value of around $2,000 and the marijuana about $50,000.
Meyers was arraigned and ordered held on $50,000 bail.
The operation also resulted in the arrests of two others, Melissa McGowan, 28, of St. Johnsville, on a misdemeanor count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and Darryl Youker, 34, who had an outstanding warrant in Herkimer, police said.
