Siena women’s lacrosse falls to Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield women’s lacrosse team cruised past Siena on Saturday afternoon with a 17-9 victory.

While the Saints got off to a strong start, leading 2-1 and 3-2 early on, they couldn’t hold down Fairfield’s offense for long. Rylee Harrell, Ellie Grefenstette and Elizabeth Talluto each scored three goals for the Stags, while Haley Burns, Libby Rowe and Maggie Fort all scored two.

Jordan Bentley and Mary Soures each scored three times for Siena, with Grace Dobrzynski adding a goal and three assists.

Fairfield outshot Siena by a margin of 27-14 shots-on-goal, while beating the Saints to 13 more ground balls, 23-10.

It was the first MAAC loss of the season for Siena, which is now 9-5 overall and 4-1 in the conference. The Saints are next scheduled to host Quinnipiac on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
