MALTA — A 17-year-old boy was stabbed in the neck early Sunday morning on Luther Boulevard, officials reported.

The alleged perpetrator fled the scene in Malta by “unknown means” after stabbing the victim near a state Highway 66-U.S. Route 9 roundabout, according to Saratoga County Sheriff Michael Zurlo.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the incident just before 2 a.m. The incident remained under investigation later Sunday.

The injured teen was taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment and medical evaluation. His condition remained unclear, Zurlo reported.

Zurlo said that the incident occurred amid an altercation between the victim and “another subject.”
