NISKAYUNA – News Anchor Anne McCloy is leaving CBS6 in Niskayuna and leaving news, she announced on Facebook Monday.
She’s worked at CBS6 as evening for approximately eight years, part of 18 years spent in television, she wrote.
McCloy, however, has been on leave from the station since January on advice from her doctor and she had planned on returning, she wrote. The company offered her more time, until the end of summer, but she declined, she wrote.
“In the past couple of weeks I have been doing a lot of reflecting on my life and about what I want in my future. The bottom line is that I have decided I need a break from the high-stress world of broadcasting and I want to try something brand new,” she wrote.
She wrote of being terrified of making the change, but that she knows it’s what she needs.
“The good news is— my new goal is to bring joy to myself and to you,” she wrote. “You won’t be losing me. I will be here on social media and I will be sharing my journey with all of you who have supported me all along.”
