After a tight first half, Shenendehowa got some breathing room by outsourcing Saratoga Springs 3-0 in the third quarter and went on to defeat the Blue Streaks 9-4 in a Section II Class AA boys’ lacrosse semifinal on Monday.
Mason Carroll scored four goals for Shenendehowa, which went up 7-3 after three quarters, Nathan Wolfe had two goals and two assists and goalie Billy Standaert made 12 saves.
Ballston Spa (11-7) rolled to a 13-1 victory over Queensbury in the Class B semifinals, as Peter Siracuse had three goals and one assist for the Scotties, and Landon Potter scored three goals.
Andrew Sparks had two triples and four RBIs as Hoosick Falls topped Granville 11-5 in Class CC.
In Class D, Colby Paffen had three goals and two assists, and Andrew Sgambati had two goals nd two assists as Stillwater/Mechanicville defeated Hoosick Falls/Tamarac 10-4. Michael Marinello and Ethan Raucci each scored two goals for S/M.
ACADEMY WINS ON SAVOCA HR
Geneo Savoca hit a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Albany Academy a 2-1 victory over Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake in the Section II Class A semifinals.
Jack Bennett went for 2 with a double, home run and five RBIs to lead Columbia to a 12-2 win over Queensbury in the Class A semifinals.
In the Class B semifinals, No. 11 seed Cohoes upset No. 2 Broadalbin-Perth 7-4.
Warrensburg scored four runs in the top of the third inning to take a 4-0 lead and held on to beat Galway 5-2 in the Class C semifinals. The Eagles’ Sam Neahr had two singles and scored a run in the bottom of the fourth, when Galway cut it to 4-2.
