SCHENECTADY – An early Friday shooting in Schenectady left one man injured, police said.
The man, 42, was shot in the leg and taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment. Police described his injuries as non-life-threatening.
The shooting happened at about 4:30 a.m. on Edward Street, between State and Albany streets, police said.
Officers were dispatched there for a report of a person shot. They arrived to find a man with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Officers then used a tourniquet on the victim, who was then treated by Schenectady Fire Department paramedics and taken on to Albany Med.
The victim was in stable condition later Friday morning, police said.
The investigation was ongoing Friday and anyone with information is asked to call the Schenectady Police Department’s tips line at 518-788-6566.
