Southern Adirondack Wine & Food Festival returns to downtown Gloversville June 3

GLOVERSVILLE — The eighth annual Southern Adirondack Wine and Food Festival returns next Saturday, June 3.

The festival will run from 3 to 8 p.m. on North Main Street in downtown Gloversville, and offer product samples from 70 different vendors. Live music will also be provided as visitors peruse the collection of wineries, breweries and distilleries, said Gloversville City Clerk, and city Recreation Commission Liaison Jenni Mazur.

“It’s really a great downtown event,” Mazur said. “You pay $15 for a tasting wristband, which gets you the sampling of the products, but otherwise the event is free. There is live music all day long, we have bands in two different locations, there’s a ton of different vendors. It’s just a nice day to come downtown.”

The event will offer a variety of food vendors as well, and specialty vendors and local businesses will also be in attendance.

The festival first began as a part of the Gloversville Business Improvement District (BID). A few years after, the BID dissolved and the event is now organized by the Recreation Commission, according to Mazur.

“While all of our festivals and events are about having fun and checking out vendors, listening to live music and enjoying some delicious food, the most important aspect is bringing our community together,” Mazur said. “Coming together as a community brings a sense of belonging and support from not only our friends, family and neighbors, but strangers who share this community.”

Live music from Insolent Willies, Fenimore Blues and Hustle & Hum will be performed at the Glove Theatre Marquee, and Dominic Orlando, Karen & Abby, Cosby Gibson & Tom Staudle and Mike Gowans will perform at the Fulton County Barbershop.

The Glove Cities Arts Alliance 2023 Art Walk will kick off at the event as well. Attendees can walk through the downtown area and check out local artists’ work displayed in business windows.

Sample tasters will receive their choice of giveaway item, either a 5 oz. wine-tasting glass, 2 oz. shot glass or a can koozie, all branded with the event logo.

“We hope everyone will join us for an evening in downtown Gloversville,” Mazur said.
