Schuylerville’s girls’ lacrosse season ended by Bronxville

SCHUYLERVILLE — Bronxville (13-7) got out to a 9-2 halftime lead on its way to an 18-4 win over Schuylerville in a Class D state regional girls’ lacrosse game Tuesday. 

The Broncos, from Section 1, scored twice in the last minute of the first half. Sophomore midfielder Amy Villanueva notched her third goal on a free-position shot, followed by Anna Becker’s behind-the-back goal with 0.4 seconds left in the half.

Freshman Rose Woolery led Bronxville with five goals and one assist. Senior Star Pflieger led Schuylerville (13-7) with three goals.

Bronxville scoring:  Woolery 5-1, Villanueva 3-0, Martinelli 2-3, Berkery 2-3, Murray 2-2, Becker 2-1, Hentschel 1-0. Schuylerville scoring: Pflieger 3-0, Wian 1-0, M.Koval 0-1. Goalies: Bronxville, Shinsato, 7 saves; Gangemi, 0 saves. Schuylerville, Long, 8 saves; Dunne, 0 saves.
