
HIGH SCHOOLS – Nick Bailey had seven goals and one assist, and Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake advanced to the NYSPHSAA boys’ lacrosse tournament Class C quarterfinals with a 21-4 victory over Our Lady of Lourdes on Wednesday.
The Spartans will play Rye at 3 p.m. Saturday at Mahopac High School.
Colden Swisher and Shane McClernan each had three goals and three assists for Burnt Hills. Lucas Donahue and Jackson Frame added two goals and two assists apiece. Ryan Lussier added two goals.
Schuylerville advanced to the Class D quarterfinals with a 15-4 triumph over James I. O’Neill. Schuylerville will face Pleasantville at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Mahopac.
Sophie Klein, Maeve Conway and Kate Tietjen each scored twice to lift Bethlehem past Yorktown 7-6 in a NYSPHSAA girls’ lacrosse tournament Class B sub-regional game. The Eagles will take on Minisink Valley at James I. O’Neill High School in a quarterfinal game at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Annabel Brennan and Margaret Puccio each had three goals and an assist to lead John Jay-Cross River to a 10-7 victory over Queensbury in the Class C sub-regional.
Last year, Queensbury defeated John Jay-Cross River in the Class B regional final.
Kendra Ballard scored four goals to lead Queensbury, which ends the season 15-3.
