TROY – The Tri-City ValleyCats won the rubber game against Empire State on Sunday, 7-2, at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium.
Jaxon Hallmark led off the bottom of the first with a home run for Tri-City (11-10). Zach Biermann later delivered a two-run double in the inning to give the ValleyCats a quick 3-0 lead.
Hallmark had another home run, this one a two-run shot in the fourth. Biermann had an RBI single in the fifth, and Carson McCusker added the seventh run by scoring on a wild pitch. McCusker also added a double in the win.
The ValleyCats begin their second six-game road trip of the season on Tuesday, when they face Evansville at 7:35 p.m.
