OF NOTE – The Capital Region’s music scene is perpetually busy, especially in the summertime. Whether it’s a stadium show at MVP Arena, an outdoor concert at SPAC or an intimate show at Caffe Lena, there’s always a band to see.
Here are a few shows coming up this weekend that are among our best bets.
Friday
Middleburgh artist Reggie Harris is set to join Pat Wictor for a performance at Caffe Lena, blending folk, jazz and blues from the artists’ original songs and traditional repertoires. The show starts at 8 p.m. General admission tickets are $24.65. For more information visit caffelena.org.
Metal/hard rockers Deveria will play Empire Underground in Albany tonight along with The Phoenix & The Raven, The Antarctican, Untamed and Infinite Sin. The show kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $14.88. For more information visit empirelivealbany.com.
Saturday
The Figgs is set to perform at the top of the Cary Hill Sculpture Park in Salem. The rock outfit, which has roots in Saratoga Springs, has developed a worldwide fan base and has toured and recorded several times with the legendary Graham Parker. Hosted by Salem Art Works, Saturday’s show will start at 5 p.m.
!!! (Chk Chk Chk) will take the stage at Troy’s No Fun at 7 p.m. The New York City-based band is known for combining punk and tightly-coiled dance music. For more information visit nofuntroy.com.
