SAUGET, Ill. — Trey Hair hit two of Tri-City’s four home runs, and the ValleyCats beat the Gateway Grizzlies 9-5 in the Frontier League on Friday.
Both of Hair’s homers were solo shots. He hit his first one in the second inning to give the ValleyCats a 1-0 lead. He hit his other homer in the fifth.
Carson McCusker blasted a three-run shot in the third inning that made it 4-0. Zach Biermann also hit a three-run homer. His came in the seventh and gave the ValleyCats an 8-1 lead.
Jakob Goldfard, Aaron Altherr and Ciaran Devenne had doubles for the ValleyCats.
