Miko Marks, expands her popular country sound with blues, southern rock, American roots & gospel. On Thursday, she will perform at Caffe Lena at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online and start at $11.

AROUND SARATOGA 

  • Thursday at the Saratoga Race Course will see NYRA partner with the New York Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association and New York Thoroughbred Breeders to host the third annual New York Thoroughbred Aftercare Day. The day will pay tribute to an array of organizations involved in finding new homes and careers for retired racehorses. The featured race will be the Rick Violette Stakes, named for the late NYTHA president who was a founding member of the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance. Gates open at 11 a.m.
  • Pianist Emanuel Ax returns to SPAC for the first time since 2015, in place of cellist Yo-Yo Ma, to perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto in G Major as the Philadelphia Orchestra continues its annual summer residency in the Spa City.

  • The Schenectady County Historical Society will offer Drink the Seasons: seasonal cocktails and more at 6 p.m. Thursday at 32 Washington Ave. in Schenectady.   • The Schoharie Valley Railroad Museum will host a presentation on the Saratoga and Schenectady Railroad by Dan Bradt at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Old Creamery Building, 143 Depot Lane. Admission is free. For information, call 518-569-3395.
