Mohawk Fine Papers — one of the city’s largest employers — has promoted its executive vice president and chief financial officer to president and CFO.
Jack Haren will fill the seat Thomas O’Connor left vacant in 2005, when he was promoted to chairman and chief executive officer from president and CEO.
Haren, who joined Mohawk in 1999, will keep his finance, treasury, information technology and international sales duties.
Before joining Mohawk, Haren spent 24 years working for the Union Camp Corp., a pulp and paper company International Paper acquired in 1999. In 2005, Haren played an important role in Mohawk’s acquisition of IP’s fine paper division, which included the Strathmore Artist Papers brands. Since that year, he has sat on Mohawk’s board of directors.
“Jack’s leadership, creativity and business acumen, combined with a thorough knowledge of the business, have positioned us well. I look forward to working with him to take Mohawk’s success to the next level,” O’Connor said in a statement.
